Many women in the project area continued to deliver their babies at home due to inadequate healthcare infrastructure and limited access to safe delivery facilities.
To address this challenge, SDA constructed a dedicated birthing centre at Kalikatar Health Post using interlocking brick technology. The centre provides a safe, hygienic, and well-equipped environment for childbirth, postnatal care, and maternal health services. The facility has contributed to increased institutional deliveries and improved maternal and newborn health outcomes.
