Following the devastating earthquake of April 2015, many families in the project area faced significant hardship, while schools and community infrastructure suffered extensive damage. In response, SDA launched an emergency relief programme to support affected households and ensure that children’s education could continue despite the disruption.
The project provided essential food supplies and emergency assistance to vulnerable families. SDA also established Temporary Learning Centres (TLCs), allowing children to continue their education while permanent school facilities were being repaired or reconstructed. These temporary facilities helped restore a sense of normalcy and stability for children and their families during a difficult period.
