SDA Nepal

Emergency Fund and Referral Support (2015)

Access to emergency medical care was often limited due to difficult terrain, inadequate transportation, and financial barriers. Many families were unable to afford urgent referrals to hospitals outside the community.
To address this challenge, SDA established an emergency referral support mechanism that provided financial assistance and transportation support for individuals requiring urgent medical treatment. The programme particularly benefited pregnant women, children, and critically ill patients, ensuring they could access healthcare services when needed most.
