Temporary learning centres constructed after the earthquake were vulnerable to weather conditions and did not provide an ideal learning environment.
SDA introduced interlocking brick technology and constructed improved learning centres using locally available resources. The project also provided technical training for local masons and women’s groups, enabling them to produce interlocking bricks independently. The initiative improved educational infrastructure while strengthening local construction skills and promoting disaster-resilient building techniques.
